About

The Military Vehicle Technology Foundation (MVTF) is a California-based nonprofit with a mission to restore and maintain historic military vehicles from around the globe. The organization was established in 1998 by Jacques Littlefield, an engineer from Silicon Valley and avid military vehicle fan. Littlefield’s goal was to teach the general public about the development and use of military vehicles.

Over 200 pieces of military hardware dating from World War I to the current day are on display at the MVTF. A German Tiger II tank, a Soviet T-34 tank, an American Sherman tank, and an Italian Lancia 3Ro lorry are among the most interesting vehicles in the collection.

The MVTF does more than just store and show off the vehicles; it also hosts instructional events and programs for the public. The Tankfest is a yearly event put on by the foundation to showcase these vehicles and educate the public on their history and development. Lectures, tours, and interactive demos are just some of the educational options available to school groups and military organizations through the MVTF.

The museum and repair workshop at the MVTF’s facilities measures 26,000 square feet and is used by the foundation’s staff and volunteers to restore and maintain the vehicles. The workshop is fully equipped with numerous specialized tools and machinery, such as a crane, welding apparatus, and a big paint booth.

Tours of the museum and its collections are available by arrangement.Members of the foundation’s employees are unpaid enthusiasts of military history and transportation advancements. The visitors can get an idea of the technological and engineering prowess that went into the vehicles, as well as their parts in various battles and conflicts.

The Military Vehicle Technology Foundation is one of a kind because it is committed to both teaching the public and preserving military heritage. The foundation’s collection, educational programs, and events provide visitors with a one-of-a-kind chance to gain insight into the evolution of military vehicle technology and its impact on the modern world.
